This year in the holy Manimahesh Yatra, helicopters will take flights from Gaggal to Bharmour. The pilgrims can now take Heli Taxis from Kangra as well. Twenty Seater helicopter will fly from Gaggal to Bharmour. Earlier, Air India was flying only for Gauri Kund from Bharmour.
Manimahesh Yatra 2018 is scheduled as follows, starting from the auspicious day of Shri Krishna Janmashtami on 26th August 2018. Yatra will be held for 15 days and will end on auspicious occasion of Radha Ashtami on 10th September 2018 with festivities and Bada Snan held at Manimahesh Lake.
Manimahesh Yatra 2018 Helicopter Update
For the upcoming Manimahesh Yatra 2018, two helicopter operators - Aryan Aviation Pvt Ltd and UTair India Pvt Ltd will start flights between Bharmour and Gauri Kund, nearly 1km short of Manimahesh Lake.

Manimahesh Yatra Helicopters
This time, Manimahesh Trust is going to introduce two new heli taxi services. There will be flights for Dhanchho, whereas the twenty seater choppers will also fly from Gaggal to Bharmour.
Manimahesh Trust has sought tenders from various helicopter companies. The last date for submission of tenders has been fixed July 31. Tenders will be opened at 2 pm in the same day.
With the start of the Manimahesh Yatra helicopter service, the number of Manimahesh yatris can also increase. Those pilgrims who can not travel long enough in the car, this flight will prove to be effective for them. It will be easy for pilgrims to travel the holy lake of Manimahesh from now.
The full-length Heli taxi service from Gaggal will run from 1st September 2018 to 19th September 2018. ADM Bharmour Prithi Pal Singh said that the preparations for starting Helicopter service from Gaggal to Bharmaur are already been started. Starting heli taxi service from Gaggal to Bharmour will also encourage tourism in Bharmour.
Thousands of Hindu pilgrims complete the trek to the sacred Lake during the Manimahesh Yatra every year. Prior to the main yatra in late August or September, a fair is held in Bharmour with folk dances and the celebrations attended by the villagers and other pilgrims. Following the ceremony, the head priests lead the pilgrims from Bharmour to Manimahesh Lake. Although, nowadays pilgrims can drive to the trailhead at Hadsar. Beyond Hadsar the well-defined trail and a numbers of dhabas at Dhanchho and Sundrashi makes your trek easy, you will also find basic pilgrim shelters here. It is not appropriate to stay overnight at Manimahesh Lake (4170m/13680ft) unless you are habitual or well acclimatized.
